Your website, running on live membership data.
From joining and event bookings to the member directory — MemEx Web writes straight into your CRM, on a full Umbraco content management system your own team runs.
MemEx Web is the public-facing website component of MemEx, built by Wattle, running directly on live MemEx CRM data so joining, event booking and directory changes take effect immediately rather than syncing later.
CRM integration
The public site writes straight into your CRM
A membership application completed on the website arrives in the CRM as an application against the right grade, with its evidence attached, ready for assessment. It does not arrive as an email, or as a PDF for somebody to rekey.
A booking made on the site creates the delegate or candidate record, raises the invoice and takes the payment, through the same finance records as everything else.
Published from live membership data, so a member who transfers grade or lapses is shown correctly without anyone updating a page.
Enquiries, nominations, submissions and applications write to the CRM against the person who submitted them.
A full CMS, not a page builder
MemEx Web runs on Umbraco, the .NET content management system used by organisations across the UK, in your own instance with your own content database.
A content tree your editors own
Version history and rollback on every page. Scheduled publishing. Preview before anything goes live. Permissions that decide who can edit and who can publish.
No supplier lock-in
Umbraco is open source, and there are Umbraco developers in every UK city. Your website is never dependent on one supplier being available.
Brand and design
Designed for your brand and your members
Wattle designs the site. Your identity, your typography, your colour and your photography are applied across every component, so the site looks like your organisation and like nothing else. Three MemEx Web sites side by side do not look like each other.
The journeys are designed too. Joining, booking an event, finding another member, renewing, proving CPD — designed around how members behave rather than around how the CRM is structured.
The same design language runs across the website and the Member Portal, so a member never feels like they have changed supplier.
Component library
Built as components
Every element on a MemEx Web site is a designed, tested component: heroes, listings, tiles, accordions, quotes, forms, event and session panels, speaker profiles, committee and people listings, and membership price tiles driven from your CRM pricing. There are thirty-seven.
Your team builds pages in minutes
Choose the sections, fill them in, publish. No developer, no design round, no ticket.
Quality is built into the component
Accessibility to WCAG 2.1 AA, responsive behaviour and performance are handled once, centrally, so every page your team assembles inherits them.
Improve one component and every page improves
A better event booking panel is a better event booking panel everywhere it appears, on your site and on every other MemEx Web site.
Personalisation
Content that changes for the person reading it
We deliver personalisation on MemEx Web with Umbraco Engage. A visitor who has never joined sees the case for joining. A member sees what is relevant to their grade and their region. A lapsed member sees the route back.
Behaviour builds a picture over time — what someone reads, what they book, what they ignore — and content is targeted against it. You can A/B test a joining page and see which version converts, rather than which one the committee preferred.
Because the site is connected to the CRM, targeting is not limited to browsing behaviour. Membership grade, renewal status and recorded interests are all available to decide what someone sees.
Your site keeps getting better
The component library is maintained by us and shipped as versioned packages, so improvements reach your site as an upgrade rather than a rebuild. Sites built this way have already crossed a major Umbraco version boundary without one.
Organisations have moved to MemEx Web from Sitefinity, ADX Studio, ageing bespoke builds and other membership platforms. Bringing content across, mapping old URLs so search rankings survive, and reconnecting whatever the old site was integrated with are all part of the implementation rather than a surprise afterwards.
