Intelligence Platform — Evidence & Reasoning

The model does the reasoning. MemEx gives it something worth reasoning over.

Models are good and getting better. What they lack is your organisation — its rules, its history and its definitions. MemEx supplies exactly that, and keeps it yours.

Evidence & Reasoning is the component of MemEx Intelligence, built by Wattle, that reaches into the systems you already run, assembles the evidence a question needs, and hands it to a model under the permissions of the person who asked.

MemEx assembles the organisational context: governed, permissioned and current. The AI reasons over it and produces the answer. Because the context lives in your platform rather than inside the model, the intelligence is not tied to any one provider. As models improve, your organisation gets the benefit without rebuilding anything. If a provider changes its terms, you change provider and keep everything you have built.

Different work can run on different models, from the same understanding of your organisation. That is an architectural property rather than an integration: the platform is reached over a standard interface, so an AI client your organisation already runs can read the same governed context your specialists do.

Every response declares the sources it used, what it looked for and could not find, and whether a list is a sample rather than a total. The failure that damages an organisation is not an answer saying it does not have something. It is the confident report that was quietly missing a third of the records, which nobody noticed for a quarter.

How an answer is assembled

Capabilities, packages, prompts.

Capabilities — governed access to your systems

A capability is a registered, versioned, permissioned unit of access to a system: retrieve this kind of record, search this source, gather this evidence. Capabilities span systems, so a single question can draw on the CRM, document storage, correspondence and operational records without anyone exporting four things and reconciling them by hand.

Intelligence Packages — context assembled around real work

A package is the composition: the Business Context an activity needs, the capabilities it may use, and the prompts that frame it, built around a defined piece of work rather than a general-purpose chat. A retention review is a package. A renewal cycle is a package. A membership committee paper is a package. Build it once and everyone doing that work operates from the same understanding.

Governed prompts

The instructions that frame how a question is approached are governed assets in their own right: written, reviewed, versioned and resolved from the platform rather than typed fresh into a chat box. Governed prompts mean the same question asked by two people returns comparable work, and any result can be traced to the instruction that produced it.

Security

The security model

Every request runs under the permissions of the person asking, and access is recorded. Nothing reaches a model that the person could not already see for themselves.

Every request is authenticated and runs under the identity of the person or system asking. There is no service account with a view of everything.

Granted per capability rather than per system. A person may query membership without being able to reach conduct casework or finance.

Permissions are checked at the capability boundary, before data is gathered, so a model never receives material the asker could not already see.

The AI is handed an assembled, permission-filtered evidence package. It holds no credentials and cannot reach your systems directly.

Requests carry a correlation identifier through the platform, so a specific answer can be traced back to what was asked, which capabilities ran, and what they returned.

Deployed per organisation. Your context and your evidence are not co-located with anyone else's.
